Linux to connect to a Microsoft VPN protocol

Freewheeling spot to chew the fat on anything cryptostorm-related that doesn't fit elsewhere (i.e. support, howto, &c.). Criticism & praise & brainstorming & requests for explanation... this is where it goes when it's hot & ready for action! :-)

Linux to connect to a Microsoft VPN protocol

Postby spadekevin » Mon Aug 06, 2018 8:05 pm

Hello,

I tried to set up a VPN connection to my work network, and it failed. Checking /var/log/messages/daemon.log, I saw the error
Oct 13 08:55:28 localhost modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting padlock_sha (/lib/modules/2.6.35-7.slh.1-aptosid-amd64/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-sha.ko): No such device

I presume the number of people running Aptosid Linux to connect to a Microsoft VPN protocol - especially one Microsoft has unofficially deprecated - is very low. It's probably just me. But I thought I would mention this. When I have the chance I'm going to recompile my kernel and add the necessary modules.
Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
