I need Help with DNS/proxy etc.

Postby kingping1 » Tue Apr 17, 2018 3:11 am

Please help me guys on how to let other applications connect, when I have a DNScrypt on. for example. What proxy type do i need to use for one application that asks me : http,socks4,socks 4a, socks5, or socks5h? Also what is the server # and port # when turning on vpn and using DNSCrypt?

Please explain this and give me an example, as this is so confusing. Also I'm using Firefox as well, so do I need to add this setting to Firefox as well, or just run vpn and leave it alone?

Thanks

@OP

Once configured and activated, DNSCrypt is transparent to your system. Even though it is a proxy, it does not require an application to have explicit support for it, unlike Tor or I2P (for example).
