Unable to open websites after connecting

Postby hhTpa » Thu Mar 08, 2018 1:38 am

I have used cryptostorm for the past year and never had an issue running it with the Windows widget.

Now, after I updated when I try to connect it just will not load any new webpages. Sometimes pages already opened on my browser will continue to work as will downloads, but when I try to open any new website it won't connect.

I have tried solutions I've found online like clearing browsing data, lowering the MTU size, and setting my DNS server addresses under TCP/IPv4 to google's 8.8.8.8, and 8.8.4.4. None of these seemed to fix the problem.

I'm on Windows 10. I'm sure the issue is probably on my end but I have no idea what it is. I used to get this same issue at times if I disconnected from cryptostorm and then reconnected, but I used to be able to fix it by restarting the program or my PC.

It sounds like a DNS resolution issue. Assuming you're using Firefox, where does the browser get stuck (message in the bottom left corner of the browser window)? Also which version of the widget are you using?

Hi team, I am also facing the same issue. Initially it started with Windows defender blocking the new widget update. I had to close defender and firewall to download the widget v3.13. Now I am not able to surf. This is what I get:
Windows Network Diagnostics
Issues found
Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection Detected

Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection Detected
Security policy settings or firewall settings on this computer might be blocking the connection.
Contact your network administrator
Completed
Your network security settings might need to be adjusted to allow Windows to
connect.
Settings that might be blocking the connection:
Provider name: -
Provider description: -
Filter name: OpenVPN
Provider context name: -

Why is windows flagging it as a Trojan? and how do I get it work again?

Thank you

I got the same problem  IT work so good for so long.
Widget connects all looks good (in the widget 3.13) but nothing happens.

EX.: Try to load https://www.iplocation.net/
FireFox - The balls in upper left corner just jumps for 10sec and then "server not found"

Under "Network and Internnet" Internet is not connected and the "Unidentified network" that is createt by the widget gives me a IP and subn. and the DHCP is set to 10.54.255.254 and no dns.

Please help ;)
