443 error

Postby gj » Sun Dec 24, 2017 9:41 pm

I'm running the 3.1 widget on win 7, getting the error - cannot resolve windows-(node name)443 (the requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.) This usually means something is wrong with your DNS settings.

The client will say not connected at the top, but show connected in the scroll window. It won't allow me access to the web at all, and kicks up the error code after a few minutes.

I've made sure I have the updated cert file from github. My dns settings are for 8.8.8.8 when the client is off and sets to 127.0.0.1 when it is on. Not sure where to go from here.

I'd appreciate any assistance!

@OP

Could you completely uninstall the widget and reinstall it again from clean?

Thanks for the help,
Completely uninstalled, rebooted and installed fresh. Same error after a few minutes of running, no web access. Now after the error it hangs up on "setting DNS back to dnscrypt-proxy" and goes unresponsive.

I did not mess with the cert file, just installed and gave it a try.

I'm having the same issues. Widget version is 3.12 on Win 10. Looks like it gets as far as setting the DNS server, then decides it can't resolve any of the Cryptostorm server names.

Ubuntu with OpenVPN plus the new config files is working fine though.

Turns out my tp-link router was being screwy, had to reset all the pass-through settings a few times and all is good again.
