Very low data transfer speeds fix

Postby ipman » Fri Dec 08, 2017 8:51 am

I'm new to cryptostrom and having this annoying issue. I experience really low download speeds on 8Mbps connection. Download speed is limited to 200-300Kbps & it's not even stable. It goes down to 0Kbps for few seconds randomly. I tried every node. Result is the same. I'm not a free user either. Is there any fix for this?. I tested this on Windows & Linux. Still nothing.

Have you tried TCP or one of the voodoo servers?

yes. I have. But 320Kbps is the maximum download speed I ever got & it's not even stable. sometimes it goes down to 0Kbps for couple of seconds.

Well, I may have found a solution. It seems switching to UDP fixes everything. But isn't it a security issue?. Because UDP doesn't do any verifications.

@ipman

UDP is no less secure and a whole lot more efficient. OpenVPN checks each packet for integrity, which is what matters.
