Postby Suntintine » Sun Feb 19, 2017 1:34 pm

Whats the story? At first I thought it might have been because of a UDP connection but it happens with TCP also

What's the URL you are using?
Are you sure the message is coming from your ISP? Can you post a screenshot, removing all information which can lead to ISP or yourself?

Did you check on ipleak.net or cryptostorm.is if you are connected or subject of leaks?

thepiratebay.org Firefox connects now in this current session. Last time it wouldn't connect, site couldnt be reached,
Opera still shows the ISP message.
ipleak doesn't detect ISP address but 2 of the three dns servers are local ISP. could manually change DNS servers?
thanks

You have a DNS leak and you need to figure out why. Are you using OpenVPN or the widget?

Not sure if related, but last I read, Opera uses private proxies to speed up web browsing- this gives them the technical ability to track/log/filter your http traffic. Does Opera gives you the ability to turn this off? -Also can you disable web-rtc peerconnection and such (as firefox can)? Absent a rather complex router configuration, web-rtc stun will expose your real IP even behind a vpn.

Thanks for the replies,
Using OpenVpn, unaware of a linux widget..
Dns leaks are detected by ipleak in opera, being a vanilla install..
No leaks in firefox according to ipleak.net, using noScript.
Not sure if there were any to cause the isp message as it hasn't appeared again.. :eh:
