So I've just tried every paid node in Windows 10 and I'm not able to resolve dns, and that's include google.com , but if I ping 8.8.8.8 it work's fine.

A strange thing is that on Android it the VPN works just fine.

I've tried others VPN on the windows machine and they work.

Can't figure this one out

Tealc,

I followed your comments on IRC.
Apparently your situation is:
- connected using widget: DNS OK
- connected using OpenVPN, block-outside-dns activated: DNS not OK

I've upgraded my OpenVPN on W7 and used the block-outside-dns directive: DNS is working.

I don't know if you are using dnscrypt in combination with block-outside-dns. As block-outside-dns only allows DNS on TAP interfaces it could be that the DNS queries to localhost are being blocked.

Addition: Just talked to df. Df indicates this should work (and has been tested) as localhost doesn't make use of a physical adapter.

I had the same issue as Tealc, and the issue for me ended up being that my TAP adapter was stuck on a manually set wrong DNS IP range. It was like this: I was using AirVPN and it set my tap adapter to 10.4.xx.xx and CryptoStorm was using 10.44.xx.xx, so I had to just manually set my DNS back to Automatic in my TAP adapter and then the next time I connected with OpenVPN, the DNS server was set from scratch and block-outside-dns worked fine.

DNS Crypt can most certainly case that "remnant manual DNS setting" issue.

I can't load those images up... are they not available anymore?

EDIT: I can if I examine the image code and load URL into another tab... wierd.

EDIT: Figured it out... Random Agent Spoofer FF addon... unticked "block display mixed content"

"block-outside-dns" is working fine for me on W7 with the latest v2 widget.

This localhost loopback thingamabob is what I am contending with at the moment... bit of a ballbreaker!

Yes, it's working fine, it seams that the problem was that using the AirVPN program for a trial made my tap driver set the DNS to manual and with that it didn't get the DNS from CS.

So... all is good, and block-outside-dns works just fine.

PS - Deleting AirVPN windows program
