Icelandic exit nodes and config files?

Postby gbj » Tue Feb 02, 2016 4:05 pm

I am a little confused. Cryptostorm.is offers an Icelandi exit node doesn't it? I was wondering where the config files for that exit node are. I can't find them on github.

That node has been dead for some time. Current nodes are only the ones listed in the Github. Except for that fact that there are a few servers in the Widget that aren't in the Github. I still don't understand that.

ie you can connect to Vancouver (canada west) with the Widget, but only Montreal (canada east) with the github configs.

Yes, I contacted support and the Icelandic node is dead and they have no plans at the moment to put another one up :( I still don't understand what happened to my beloved fenrir.

Dodgy data center softcocks who weren't willing to go the extra mile to stand up for CS is what happened... so CS pulled the plug on Fenrir before Fenrir became a hazard.

I was always under the impression that Iceland has some of the least intrusive laws concerning internet traffic, and as such I used to default to it. It seems a shame that no replacement has been found yet there are nodes all over the US, and other of the more 'pathologically curious' nation states.

One vote from me for a replacement Icelandic node, and if possible, resplendent with turgid 'cock', glistening with eagerness to uphold principal and twitching with need to....oh. Sorry. Wrong message board.

I'm completely agree with you man. i see too many servers in "suspicious" country and really few in better offshore places. Bad there is not more an Icelandic node, the same for moldova i think.
It will be good at least 2, one in serbia and one in panama city for example, or kosovo/finland, or russian/kaliningrad, or serbia/finland or at least one asiatic like Singapore and son on..
Bit strange all those servers in usa, france etc..
Anyway we'll see..

According to widget connection details, 3 of the NSA exit nodes are the same IP, 76.x.x.x; so the comment about nodes all over the NSA isn't accurate. However, according to GitHub, there is no duplicates across the NSA nodes.

I tried to connect to the various NSA nodes via widget, and never received the IPs that were displayed in the GitHub page. What gives?
