Re: optimising torrenting performance on cryptostorm: discus

I'd love to do some special testing to improve things (and learn stuff while I'm at it) but I have to pass for now. This kind of work though very interesting is sometimes also time-consuming. My dedication to forum and community work plus my side-channel CS advisory activity already has a certain im...

Re: Tokens Date

There is no timer ticking when you buy it. You can keep it in you stash for as long as you want.

The clock starts ticking down when you make your first connection to the dark net with that token.

Re: HOWTO: DD-WRT Routers

Dude I slowly start wondering if you are trolling me! :eh: You obviously got a lot of things mixed up very badly. So please disregard EVERYTHING you think to know about DD-WRT. Clear your mind of it. Just pretend you never heard about it. Ok, now carefully read the following: The non-widget windows ...

Re: HOWTO: DD-WRT Routers

Ehhhh.... I think you misunderstand the complete conecept behind router established VPN connections. First of all: Windows DD-WRT is a funny word combination but only shows your confusion. If anything a DD-WRT router would need a Linux config. This is why I suggest to use the RAW-Configuration for D...

Re: cryptostorm & bittorrent: perf tuning & tweaks | ONGOING

Asymmetrical. They don't sell symmetrical connections here to "normal" customers... Different. I had no more than 10 today and all were well seeded. So I don't think I overstrained my connection. I remember a session in the past where I had way over 30 torrents active at the same time and ...

Re: cryptostorm & bittorrent: perf tuning & tweaks | ONGOING

Today I really cranked up my torrents (and still do) and I must report worse performance than what I was used to with config 0.9d around. I know the config has nothing to do with this, it only serves as a time frame. My connection is capable of pulling down almost 6 Megabytes per second and in the p...

Re: KitKat VPN problems fixed in latest nightly

Good to hear! Was it fixed by the CM team or by google? I remember it not working on vanilla android 4.0 as well which would mean that it was an mistake (or intentional) by google.

Re: Identity leaks via browser disclosures

I'd love an informed opinion on the camellia chiper though. It's the AES equivalent created for the European Union. I don't really trust that thing as it hasn't been proven itself for as long as AES even though both have some pretty scary back stories. It's also strange that I only see it used in SS...

Re: HOWTO: DD-WRT Routers

Ahh! I see this model is a tad more complicated to flash than most models. Nontheless it is pretty easy. Concerning the HOWTO: Step two involves pressing the reset button for 30 seconds. This is something that your designated hands would have to do. But if you ask me you could do the same via GUI by...

Re: Identity leaks via browser disclosures

Wow! Very good find Marzametal!
This basically makes the addon redundant! I'll have to try this out on Linux but first I have to find the appropriate folder.

This thread is a gold mine! I'm this close from making it a sticky.

Re: HOWTO: DD-WRT Routers

Don't sweat it! It's actually pretty easy as your router already uses DD-WRT. It's just a branded one. Everything can be done with the provided GUI and thus your "Designated Pair of Hands" will not need any special knowledge. ;) I will attempt a short guide: 1. Get to know what router mode...

Re: HOWTO: DD-WRT Routers

Ahhh okay! Things obvious now. Your router firmware is WAY out of date. I mean like WAAAAAAAAY out of date. It's from 2012! This means the openVPN version of this firmware is way too old to support CryptoStorms superior encryption. Now guess how good PIA's overall security is... ;) If Buffalo doesn'...
