Re: Kicked on restrictive network

I tired using the port 80 (same result, not connected after ~15min) and not able to connect with UDP config file ("TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 17 seconds")

Kicked on restrictive network

Hi guys, I am on a wifi network with some high restrictions blocking a lot of ports (no SSH, IMAP,...) which is quite painful. I was hoping to be able to bypass that using CS VPN. It seens to succeed to establish the connection and I can access all my services again Wed Nov 9 10:42:01 2016 Attemptin...

Re: TrackerSmacker: philosophical considerations

I don't know why anyone would want this turned off? The main reason would be because the site I am visiting is broken. When I end up on a broken page, I now get the habit to, one by one, disable µBlock, ghostery, greasemonky, httpseverywhere,... (and last resort: blame Flash) supposing one is block...

Re: TrackerSmacker: adware/crapware-blocking done right

I like the idea to block at the /etc/hosts level but I am also a bit afraid about how to opt-out in case it breaks some website. Just check the latest issue on the github project where somebody reports tracking of W10 trackers blocks as well outlook live website Maybe wrong/temporary but it raises t...

Re: How to put cryptostorm on tails?

That makes me wondering, as the secret is the token (which is too long to be remembered), how can I securely put it on a LiveUSB without risking losing it in case somebody access my key ?
Here I am using monthly tokens but the question of protecting the token is important in case of Aleph token...

Re: IVPN VPN Questions

Thanks for the info, about the number of parallels connections, see https://cryptostorm.org/viewtopic.php?p=13404#p13404 it states How many connections are allowed per user? We don't do "user"-based network authentication; we make use of network access tokens to manage this process, and as such one ...

Re: is montreal node offline?

Could be nice to have such ping to check the connection state of each server. For instance I got AUTH_FAILED for a few days on Frankfurt node (just me ?). Could be easy to make a small bash script checking periodically every node (one more w.e. project for my TODO list). Now I am wondering if there ...

Re: stormcoins: cstorm facilitation of token resales, token hash excisions, & token refreshes

@parityboy Ok, I read @cryptostorm_admin's message again and I now understand it says they don't keep a list of tokens but they do keep a list of hashes. So of course they can do things like revoke hash (then the linked token) or regenerate a new one if you can show you own the initial one. Just no...

Re: stormcoins: cstorm facilitation of token resales, token hash excisions, & token refreshes

Sorry for the digging of old post but you claim not keeping a list of distributed token. Ok I can believe you but then the question is : what do you keep? I mean, how do you know that the hash I give you comes from a valid token and not an outdated token or something made up ? To do so the only solu...

Iceland node located in Portugal

Hello, For a few days/weeks, when connecting on the Iceland node (using 1.4 config file), I get an ip address located in Lisbon, Portugal. It seems that linux-iceland.cryptostorm.net gateway pings to the same ip address as linux-lisbon.cryptostorm.net (109.71.42.163) Is there no longer an Iceland no...

Re: [The Register] VPNs are so insecure you might as well wear a KICK ME sign

Could you please elaborate on how Cryptostorm is doing on this? 18 months ago , cryptostorm did not work on IPv6 and advised to disable it. It seems that it's still the case and CS is not so fan of using IPv6. Is there something planned to support it or is IPv6 just not made to work with VPN (then w...
