I seem to have lost 'cryptobob' from Twitter. Syncthing believed I deleted my qTox profile so I'm left with an old backup.

Aleph Token For Sale

I am selling my aleph token hoping to give someone else a chance of using Cryptostorm without having to worry about recurring payments. I wish to sell it for 175USD/140GBP. Bitcoin is the preferred form of payment although PayPal is okay as well (+2.5%). Please respond if you are interested either o...

Re: cstorm speedtest results & speed-tuning discussions

I have used the tool you've kindly provided. Using the closest node to me (UK) my average speed was 3.35MiB/s with a spike of ~8MiB/s a second in. When not connected to CStorm I have my full 12.2MiB/s bandwidth available. Is there anything I can do to improve this? I'm on Windows but the results are...

Re: widget version 2.22 ('sexy narwhal') released in the wild | 4.2.2015

I have the problem that the widget crashes. I disconnect, then close the application. And on closing the app crashes. That happens every time. The faulting file name is perl516.dll I've had this issue for literally months and it has nothing to do with security software. There's something wrong with...

Re: HELP - How to connect using OpenVPN on Windows 8.1?

I filed an issue on GitHub about this and DF took up the call. There are now "official" .ovpn files for Android, Linux and Windows.

Re: The CryptoStorm Speed Test Thread

(Can't edit my posts since the forum upgrade so I'll make a new one.) I've had to switch to a wired connection, with a 20ft Ethernet cable, because my wireless adapters either drop after 5 minutes or cause Windows to malfunction. On torrents I see ~5MiB/s for download and for regular files it's ~6Mi...

Re: The CryptoStorm Speed Test Thread

I have a 152Mbps connection at home although it peaks short of 120Mbps IRL. While I'm connected via CStorm I see a top speed of around 50Mbps. The average speed for torrents is around 2.4MiB/s (unchanged from before my connection upgrade) and for regular files I've seen it peak at around 4MiB/s. I'v...

Re: cryptostorm: zero tolerance policy implemented

The maximum file transfer speed I can get connected to any node is around 4.7MB/s. I am on a 52D/3U connection with a theoretical maximum of around 6.5MB/s.

@PJ (and df and the rest of the team) All I can say is "well fucking done!!". :D This is exactly the sort of thing I got involved in CryptoStorm for. OK, you beat me to it regarding the I2P gateway (it'll be many months off if I do now decide to bring it into production after all), but ye...

So... I have a small question, why don't the token gets "Saved" for all the nodes? Even if I did the "check" part... Btw "Deneb, Cygnus" hummm you're adding a node in the stars? :-D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deneb Tokens are saved on exit regardless of node. I also...

Re: enabling Windows Firewall to for cstorm webRTC patch

Windows Firewall was disabled so it's me who's at fault. Enabled and working as expected. :) Since it was disabled, I presume that you normally use some other firewall. If that's the case, why not just create an appropriate rule for it instead? I do not use any security software (AV and firewalls a...

Re: enabling Windows Firewall to for cstorm webRTC patch

Just a heads-up, WebRTC still leaks for me on CStorm, disabled PeerConnection in Firefox for now. Not a big deal. This is one of those blindingly-obvious things in hindsight, but our block won't work unless Windows Firewall is enabled on the machine. I know of many folks who disable WF, so I think ...

Re: widget version 2.2 ('sexy narwhal') released in the wild | 4.2.2015

I had also manually downloaded the new client. Why is the "disable IPV6" option checked on default? Does is mean I can't browse to IPv6 webpages? So can I untick it? Yes. 2.2 has scripts included (found in the install directory) to automate the process of protecting users from known leaks...

Re: Issues messaging within Skype

I have nothing new to bring on to solving this issue, but I would like to say that from the moment Microsoft bought Skype and merged their Messenger App and Hotmail with Skype it's a total crap, even the video quality is worse, and don't get me started with this "Dual login/Merged Hotmail acco...

Issues messaging within Skype

I brought up an issue a few days ago with p_j which affected messaging within Skype. What's happening is whenever I send a message it could take up to 10 minutes for them to receive it and take around 90 minutes(!) for me to receive theirs. I have had to resort to my phone since it's not on CS. p_j ...

Re: Strange speed difference when downloading

Between Fenrir and Onyx I get ~3MB/s while on a 'naked' connection I get ~3.7MB/s. Not missing much but it would be nice to get the full bandwidth out of mine. My router has its QoS disabled while the OS (Windows 8.1) has its QoS enabled. Hardware has 'priority' support enabled as well (!= 802.11e)....

Re: beta testing of new, in-house DNS resolvers | DNSchain

I think this is a good place to mention that the last couple of days both Fermi and I experience strange lags when resolving DNS queries with the standard pushed DNS servers. I'll try to find the culprit and will test if it gets better when I remove it. Just another reason for in house DNS resolver...
