Re: Can't connect through "Cryptostorm Client"/OpenVPN | CLO

I'm still seeing the slow downs at the same times on the montreal exit node. Pattern_Juggled told me that it was most likely "upstream congestion at the colo we're using for beta test infrastructure" I know other people with the same internet connection speeds having the same issues. I'll ...

Re: Can't connect through "Cryptostorm Client"/OpenVPN | CLO

I can't wait till you guys upgrade the CA exit nodes so that they can handle "faster" connection and can't wait till iceland is up and running.

Re: Official launch press release: community input requested

It's great to hear about you guys refusing to "snitch" on your users. That is the main reason that i have come to use you guys and watch your progress with your network so much. I was wondering if after more exitnodes are online and the widget is done if you will be adding the conf files e...

Re: late-alpha widget testing

I noticed if you have openvpn running and try to connect to it that it will get stuck on logging in and if you hit cancel the program will crash. Nothing huge, but just wanted to make sure you knew about that. Will the final build be able to select the different nodes you have (Once you have them on...

Re: Slow speeds | optimising cipher suite performance

30mb/s... WTF... *cries* What? 30mbit isn't even that fast :P EDIT: 2:42AM EST and the speeds are back to normal on cryptostorm and maxing me out. It's the same thing everyday. http://www.speedtest.net/result/3077536168.png I really wish they would stay like that all the time. I'm not sure if it's ...

Re: Slow speeds | optimising cipher suite performance

I'm still seeing the speed issues after the network update. With out VPN: http://i.imgur.com/8gYTpX1.png With VPN: http://www.speedtest.net/result/3077177697.png I'll be honest and say even though the speedtest shows 6mbit with the VPN i'm actually downloading at around 9mbit, still far off my full ...

cryptostorm running DNS resolvers in-house? Discussion...

{direct link: dns.cryptostorm.org } I was wondering if you guys have any plans to do your own logless DNS? I know that your OPENVPN config files points to DNS servers, but they aren't yours and who knows if they can be TRUELY trusted. I know that one is hosted on an OVH box. It would be great to se...

Re: Slow speeds | optimising cipher suite performance

It's just weird, but right now i'm only downloading at 6-10mbit/s even though my CPU/RAM seem to be fine. I don't see any high usage out of them. CPU usage is idle at about 3% and ram is at 2gb/8gb So i'm not really all to sure what is causing the speed issues. It's just kind of weird because it's f...

Re: Slow speeds

I think i figured it out. I think that the encryption levels are just to high for my older PC that was built around two years ago to fully max out my 30mbit connection while using such high levels of encryption. If i set the priority to high for openvpn and openvpn gui then that does improve my aver...

Re: Slow speeds

It seems to have been some kind of problem with my ISP as i'm maxing out my connection with you guys now. I think my ISP started shaping/throtting users at night or something and just didn't notice. Thank you for the replies and the PM's to help me out with this and sorry that it turned out to be on...

Re: Slow speeds

I also noticed that you don't have ip blocks from what you said in another post. I was just wondering with how you plan on dealing with blocked/banned ips from sites when people spam etc from your network? I think that is the main reason providers have blocks of ips. I could be wrong though, but hav...

Re: Slow speeds

Well i turned logging on, but don't really have a way to send it to you since i'm not a member on here yet. also, thanks for the dns servers. I noticed one of them is hosted on a OVH box. Is that safe to trust? I wouldn't call OVH a trusted company. Anyway, do you have any plans to bring your icelan...

Slow speeds & optimising cipher suite performance | RESOLVED

I'm not sure if it's routing or peering, but i'm seeing some pretty slow speeds on the test server. I can max out my connection with no problem to servers in Toronto with another VPN provider that i'm with now and even servers in sweden and romania. I'm seeing around 4-10mbit on my 30mbit connection...
